Perfect cowboy! Nothing like that extra nudge to make something you've always wanted to anyway. I love this thread for that.

Sounds good as long as I still have some decent rock.

Now that's different! I'm finding it takes more rock to build one than one might think. Kinda hard to get that nice swoop up effect on the stache. Still chipping.

Been awhile since I posted a POM post. Got bit in the pit today, bout an hour and I wasn't expecting to make this, more of a cahokia, but the rock thought other wise.

Here's my Hoosier Simpsom Mustache, Bybee Burlington is the material. dpgratz

Well I think their in the neighborhood. Those staches are more difficult than they look.

Do not despair Derik, you are doing just fine! Keep on a knappin :)! Remember what everybody says about tonnage? There's your ticket. I'd like to come up there and spend a day.

lol, Found no reason for this type point, so I did some snoopin around.
Just found this un -edited (spell check ) fun.
I was thinking they could be some heavily re sharpened projectiles. Not now?

The article is really good,

No matter, I think I am trying to preserve to much blade?

I think someone back in the day just had to come up with something different for whatever reason. Don't know if these are projectile points or what but the staches would obviously prevent them from penetrating, hmm.
Also noticed along the way that you can create just about anything your mind can conjure up and you can find it in the overstreet.

Thanks cowboy...I ain't givin up on the knapping. I want to try to get really good at cahokia and agee style points. That is what my summer point spread should be by fall.

zuma, I think you;re right about needing to get rid of some blade.

Thanks Guys, dp

That's it, I quit this one. haha. And tonnage is right. Too bad I live in IL and basically refuse to by rocks. I've worked maaaybe 20 pieces of large unspalled rock in my 16+ years of chipping.
