The temp actually got above freezing so I took advantage and got another Snyders style point out of a pc of keokuk, had a pretty nice preform so thinned her down and got this one, I'm pretty happy with some nice flake scars and thin point. Thanks for lookin and lets see some others. Bob

Here's one I made of some sort of Obsidian. This is the first real Snyder's I ever made. A long time back, I thought any tear dropped shaped corner notched point was a Snyders.

Thanks! I have made plenty of other points and had to look at a great many Sniders before attempting one. Many of the old ones are quite large, so it makes you wonder what the Hopewell cultures did with them. They had bows, so what did they need with really large notched spear points?

hello
I'm far from being a knapper but i'm an active lurker and this is one of my favorites sections of this site
May I suggest a point for the future?
I saw in another place some nice quad tip points (central asia). they looks pretty peculiar.
Would you like to try to reproduce them?

great Snyders btw.

Those are some nice Snyder's. 8)
I hope mine qualify I have only made 2 to date. The first one I made at a October prospecting outing I was at. I found the stone on our club claim and made the Snyder from a small chip. I do not know what type of stone it is but it was hard as nails raw. The 2nd one I made today and is from a Keokuk spall.

I have yet to make one this month but I wanted to post what would be my inspiration. I did not make these but they do belong to me. I was fortunate enough to watch the left one be made in front of me as a birthday present. And what a present it was.

Tom , Wow a couple of real nice Snyders for sure. Ghost as soon as I started to read your post I had a hunch that you were going to go with a couple of Ken's points. I wish that I had a couple of his beauty Snyder's. Bob
