big hollow youth jam demo
« on: May 12, 2012, 10:27:01 am »
I have been doing lots of flint knapping demos.  I was ask by the flint river bow hunters to knap at the youth archery Jam tody. The truck is loaded and Isaac and I am going to leave in a couple pf minutes. I bet he will be the only kid that helped build his own bow.   Maybe we can convert them before they buy a wheel bow lol.

Five hours of knapping non-stop I made 4 points and had many many kids making points from flakes. Lots of 10 year olds and one kid made five flake points.   You would be surprised.  I first taught five then had them teach the other kids how to do it.   Must have been 20 or 30 points those kids made.  Tower they liked your Texas flint flakes.  I had not time to take pictures but others did and when they are posted I will post them here.   Tower I made a nice knife form a large stone you sent me.  All of the other points I gave away by having kids pick a number and the closest got the point.   By the way PAT B Annette made you some cookies you should see them this week.

Sweeeeeet blade! Glad you like it.  You keep it up & they'll be a law restricting you from schools. Knapping is worse than crack. Keep it up.

Dang John! You are just all over the place! That's quite a leap from points to a big blade like that. Carry on - good works!
