It dont get any better....and still dont
« on: September 06, 2012, 06:00:28 pm »
Clint (Osage Outlaw) was my first internet buddy. I did my first internet swap with him as well. And he is where my first few osage staves came from. Needless to say it was time for he and I to do our own mini bow swap. About 6 weeks ago we drew names, he got mine and I got his..... ;D. We decided to ship at the same time. Both tubes where safely delivered today. Im shooting the sweetest wood bow Ive ever shot, no offense to any and all of yours that Ive shot, or own  ;). This one just blows me away head to toe. The wood is like no osage Ive seen all creamy and swirled all the while mildly snakey. The tips are key ivory from an 1880 piano and holds an easy 1 1/2" reflex. The string tension is higher than I have on my statics. It pulls 52 @ 28 and is in the 64" range. Its my hunting bow this year and I LOVE it. Thanks Clintser the Bowyer!

You know it Kip Winger! It blew me away when I seen the name I drew. I just hope he like his as much as I do mine. He had a cross country meet to go to, so his bow is stashed until he gets back to brace and shoot it. Im nervous......he put lots of pressure on me with this beauty.

You guys are going to have to wait until tomorrow to see the awesome bow that Pearly made for me.  It is a rawhide backed HHB with a killer stain job on the rawhide.  When I woke up this afternoon I only had enough time to open it up and look at it before we had to leave.  I have really enjoyed the mini trade we did.  We kept the bows secret but we would send each other PM's on our progress throughout the build.  I was dying to send Ol' Pearly some pics of it, but I was able to resist.  The last few weeks have been very good to me.  I got a Pearl Drums bow and  a Blackhawk bow.  I have a list of bowyers that I want to get a bow from and I just checked two names off the list  :)  Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket while this good luck streak is still hot.   It's going to be hard to pick a bow to hunt with this season.  I might have to have a rotation of bows.

Blackhawk is right about the bow I sent Pearly.  It was from that creamsicle stave I posted a while back.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left
