Turkey knife

My buddy sent me this turkey leg with the long spur and asked if I could make a blade for it. So I took a piece of TX chert I got from Tower and was lucky enough to find this blade hiding in the middle.

I put the knife together and after turning it in the light several times I realized what was missing. So I got to work on giving it a glove. I'm not the best leather smith out there so I could use your critisicm.

Thanks guys! Forgot to mention the cap is a piece of mesquite from Cipriano (really liking that stuff lately) and the beard is from the local population. The blade is set with pitch and sinew and the wrap has a thin coat of glue to seal it. My buddy mentioned using it to skin a deer with so I wanted it to be somewhat durable.
