Bows of Wood, Vincent Minor Finish

Does anyone know what type of finish Vincent Minor used on his bamboo backed bows?  I have one of his fancy stained versions, and do not want to use a touch up finish that will not work well.

Dave, I have 2 of Vinson's bows but don't know what finish he uses or used.
