I just found this notching vid, Its very helpful to me(who didnt know how to notch) to see what you want to do for notching, and why it works that way. It also helps eliminate notches terminating short of the desired length. The best part is that you can use thick or thin points and still notch as deep as you want!

From what i found is the thinner the point the thinner the notches will be so if you notch a thick point you have to compinsate for the width of the notches because it makes larger bulbs. Thats my thinking on it i could be wrong
