Knapping Demo at Central Washington University

Today I had the great pleasure of learning the skill of knapping from an amazing instructor.  Jim Baugh, came to our Anthropology department building at Central Washington University and held an interactive knapping demo.  I was riveted for the better part of three hours listening and learning from Jim as he walked various other students and myself through knapping our first points.  I worked a total of three points during the day, the first two which were less than impressive and my third and final which was by far my best work.  It was really amazing to learn and watch myself and others progress, even in the short time we had. Many, including myself went from "man who beat carelessly on rock" to taking more measured strikes and looking several moves ahead.
