very nice suprise gift
« on: November 29, 2012, 07:41:37 pm »
Got a package in the mail today, it was a gift from my good friend Dan Hamblin. This knife is all ABO and the blade is over 6" and is 12" overall. It has real even and nice "backbone", the edges are scarry sharp too. Blade is hafter with whitetail buckskin rawhide and is rigid as all get out...... anyways thought this is a real beauty and wanted to share. Thanks Dan

Thanks for the comments, I know how special his stuff is. I,ve used a Hamblin head to take that buck last year and have 3 of his knives even used the one to skin out last years deer. Pappy it is real "clean" lookin but it's awfull nice to gut me a deer with so I'm half tempted to hang this one. Ya bubby I got a few good friends they make bows and stones and I'm sure we'll be seeing some of it in the huntin posts.....well if the deer cooperate ::)

Glad you like the knife Rich.  Not very often I get an ABO obsidan blade to finish like this one.  Wanted someone to have it that would appreciate the primitive blade and share it with others.  That is what gives me the most pleasure from a hobby that can be pretty frustrating at times.  Enjoy.  Thanks to all the kind post from everyone.
