Consider it a standing offer Dave, so long as it is another one of those yew staves where the bow just falls out ready to shoot.  ;D

carson, that is some mighty fine work..every thing you did was meant  for that bow..i am really blown away about the skin..i have all ways thought that fish skin would lose a lot of the color..but that has a very nice appeal to me...thanks for sharing..john

Thanks John, that is very nice of you to say.

Alright Dave you better not be putting me on cause I am already dreaming about yew staves and what a bow for snag will look like.   ;D

That is some beautiful wood, Way to make the most of it... how do you like that cork and how durable is it?
Is this bow making a sickness? or the cure...

Soy, I love the cork.   It is surprisingly durable.  I used it to build up the arrow rest on this one, and on another recent bow used cork for the entire handle wrap (http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php?topic=36803.new;topicseen#new).  After the cork is glued to the bow, I rough shape it with a sharp knife, then apply thin wood glue to it.  Let it dry thoroughly, finish shaping with 80 grit sandpaper, then another coat of thin wood glue and let dry, sand with 150, and another coat of wood glue, this time not thinned.  then whatever finish goes over the bow goes over the handle.  I like how shellac adds a nice finish to the cork with steel wool used between coats.  Sounds like more work than it is.  I like the cork.    For the full handle wrap, I cut the cork sheet to size, lapped the edges, and soaked in super thin hide glue for about 30 min before wrapping it around the bow, and wrapping an ace bandage around that.
