Opening morning Turkey
« on: October 14, 2007, 08:47:13 am »
I was in my pop-up blind opening morning with Ol'fence post, my first selfbow made at OJAM '06 with lots of help from Ralph, and a new wing bone call made by Bernie. I was listening to lots of turkeys yelping and chirping to each other as the sun came up so I joined in once in awhile. I had been sitting quietly for about 15 minutes when 6 Toms came walking out of the high grass at about 18yds. I was just starting to draw when another one walked out about 12yds, stopped and looked toward the first group. Pearson Deadhead did it's job.
