Maybe dry rot?  Could have been the moisture content maybe?

I did quite a bit of dry heat correction. Maybe that did it? I thought I gave it enough time to rehydrate but maybe not???

The bottom limb is still in good shape and it has the steal part of the sleve. The sleeve came with two brass female components so maybe I can find a billet and salvage the bow?

That sucks kipper. Too dry would be my guess as well.  You might have heated the back to much to.

Let me know if you need a billet to finish it off Kip.

Looks like it got too dry Kip. Ive only had one osage blow up like thatand it was after I did some heat correcting with the heat gun. Osage takes longer to rehydrate than most other woods. Was that one of the staves I sent ya? Let me know if you need another one.
