Nice bend for sure Pearlie. Congrats Gus. That's a sweet bow...and the beard will pass for a real beard.  ;)
How's the ice storm doing in Houston, Gus? Our daughter lives there so we are always watching the weather there too.

Thank You Sir... this is my first Real Beard...
Not counting all the short beards and goatees.   ;)

We have about an eighth of an inch of ice at this time..
Heck, listening to the news you would think the Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse "ICE" has ridden into town...
And we might all slide off the road to our eminent Demise if we step out our front door.

But counting the number if wrecks around town, they might be right  ???

Were the same way here Gus.  Spoke with a guy in Fredericksburg this morning and he said 20 cars off in the ditch on his way to work.  I'm working from my home today. :)

This morning I cut splices into each limb and glued them together. I checked the alignment after the joint was pinned and it is perfect. So far so good…

I'm not clear how you cut the splice and got such a good alignment.  How did you flatten the belly of the billets?  Is the back of the bow still rounded?
