Just finished an ELB for a guy, he found the Yew himself about 14months ago and asked if I could make it into a bow, it was a bit skinny, and I said I couldn't garantee there was an ELB in there, but I'd certainly make some sort of bow.
It had a couple of inches of deflex, and wasn't the springiest Yew, but with some heat bending and tempering, it's ended up ramrod straight and a very handsome 55# @ 28".
He had some old gold rings and wanted a gold arrow plate... well it's different!
Full story of the smelt on my blog. Earlier posts have more bow details and pics.
http://bowyersdiary.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/gold.htmlHere's some pics, you can see the central pith peeking through on the belly.
The profile is more rectangular than classic D, a bit more Americal longbow... but I had limited heartwood to playwith, so I maximised it.
I'll prob post the full bow later, but I haven't got a decent full draw pic at the mo'... anyhow, I'm sure you can guess what my full draw tiller looks like by now
