A little teaser!
« on: April 10, 2013, 03:45:09 am »
After my latest black locust r/d recurve lighting up the chrono  :) I decided to see if I could get the same performance from a different piece of wood. I looked through my stave pile and decided on using my last and only osage stave. It was more or less straight but with poor rings....thin latewood and a high proportion of earlywood....

Anyway here is a sneaky peek  ;)

I've more or less got it tillered to my draw length but just want to try and get the weight the same as my black locust bow so that I can directly compare the two.
This is a link to that bow -  http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,38697.0.html

Nice profile, very interested in this experiment. I have a feeling that the black locust will be the one you like the best. Did you use heat or steam for the re curves?
