Cool looking bow!
I've just got back from a rock climbing trip to Spain , the place where we were staying was right in the middle of a huge olive grove! They were using olive as firewood!!!! I was like 'man i've got to have a piece' so cut a chunk off a log and brought it home, it will do for overlays etc. It was such a shame I couldn't have got a stave of it. Very dense beautiful wood. :)

Noy sure about the invasive specie shrub but it makes sense to me. They look like they have exploded all over the place here.
