"Show and Tell" (Arrow exchange)
« on: September 06, 2013, 07:17:32 pm »
OK guys, time to "show and tell". Lets get some pics up, with a brief description, of all these exchange arrows. Here's mine from Brother Dan:

Cedar arrow (I think), 28" BOP and marked 55-60# with turkey fletch and Ace broadhead. Shaft has a very nice finish with a crest and crown. Proud to call you brother, brother Dan ;D! Very nice arrow! Thanks........Art B

PS Weight of your arrow is a little heavy for me, so don't be surprised if I "borrow" that broadhead for this hunting season.

Heres what came in the mail to me yesterday from The Osage Outlaw, thanks Clint this is a finely crafted and deadly
lookin' arrow.
Cane or boo, not sure, with a real nice trade point that Clint fashioned from a band saw blade, single bevel which I always prefer and a sharp edge. Weighs 644 grains on my scale, nice hunting weight. Wild turkey 3 flecthed with
the hen feathers dyed green and very neatly thread wrapped front and back. Trade point mounted with pitch glue
and also has a very tidy tread wrap behind the point.
Shot a few rounds with it out back and it brought a smile to my face, this is a serious hunting arrow guys. I'm sure
proud to have it in my quiver.  Thanks Clint :)
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Believe it or not but that is tapered ash.  The stain is an old method used by early gunsmiths on curly maple.  It goes on kind of translucent and goes to this dark color when heat is applied.  I hope they fly good for you. By the way.  Those are Magnus Eclipse heads.

I received a text from my wife yesterday letting me know that the mailman had dropped off a tube for me. I knew what it had to be. When I got home I found a PVC tube with the return address of Matt Wirwicki on it and my excitement spiked. Matt has been a great help to me at shoots as I learn to build bows and I have witnessed him help countless others. His work is second to none and receiving one of his arrows in this trade has made my day. Thanks Matt!

The arrow shaft is I believe river cane, fletched in a 3 fletch pattern with turkey feathers, and equipped with a vintage and wicked looking 1953 Cobra 6. Absolutely outstanding arrow Matt! I can't thank you enough.

And here's the cool arrow I got from Clayton, "smoky #1". I don't know what the wood is but it has a self nock, turkey tail feathers and a sharp trade point. Thanks, Mr. Porter.

Matt Wirwicki, how about telling us a little something about that hunting head. Very interesting! Never seen one like it myself. Unique to say the least. How about a side profile pic please............Art B
