What a shot Clint, poked him right through the boiler room man! Just got back from hunting myself, no luck but it's good to come home and see that you have a nice buck headed to the freezer. Congrats Outlaw Man, always good to
see someone from the PA community take a deer and you earned that one for sure. :)

Thanks guys.  I'm glad that I am part of the PA community and can share a special moment with fellow primitive hunters.  I'm still kind of in shock that I actually took my first selfbow deer.  Today I skinned the head and got it ready to cook.  I saved the brains and froze them.  I want to do something with the hide but I'm not sure yet.  It had a beautiful coat.  It was very thick winter fur.  It seams kind of early for that.  I also put a blood thumb print on my bow and sealed over it with a couple thin layers of TB3, the same thing I sealed the bow with.  I hope I can add a few more to it.

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Enjoy the feeling Clint! Cool thumb print! I did something like that with each deer to "bless" the Bow sorta thing. I relieve the hunts during the dull moments in the stand  :)

Thanks guys.  I'm glad that I am part of the PA community and can share a special moment with fellow primitive hunters.

It halves the pain and doubles the joy having this community to share with.

Your desire to make as much use of the animal as possible might make some folks think this is all about the trophy, but we know it is about respecting the contribution the deer is making to your continuing life.  Your desire to make as much use as possible is highly respectable.  Way to go, Double O!

Good for you Clint!
First deer with a selfbow is special, it's something very few archers can do.
that was great shot placement also!
