Getting better (and colorful...)

Finished these throughout December.  50-55#, Ash, leather dye and water based sealed, or straight gun stock oil.  I'm improving my Nock grade from a C to a B  :).  While I can get consistent nice results, it still requires a lot of work on my part.

Haven't gotten the hang of cutting my own feathers yet.  Went through a whole wing, and didn't get 3 that were the same size or shape.  Also, learned that just because a bone point is straight from the front doesn't mean it's straight from the side.  I won't tell which two arrows don't spin well.

Great job on those arrows. The color scheme would help me quit loosing so many arrows while I'm out shooting tree rats.

Really nice threadwork. That's an area where a lot of folks are challenged and it can take some time to learn.
I'm not sure what issues you're having with your nocks but whatever it is, you're certainly headed in the right direction.

Very nice! What I do with feathers is I wait till they are glued to the shaft. Than I will use wide masking tape over both sides of the fletching. Than I have a little cardboard template I hold against the feather while I trace it with a pen, and then cut on the line I traced with some scissors. After that, I just slowly pull the tape off and usually have a perfect fletching. It's important to put the tape on carefully. That is how I have been doing it lately anyhow, I am still quite a virgin to good making arrows, :).

TMK, I do similar but  I use masking tape and once the pattern is set I transfer the tape  from arrow to arrow.

Nice arrows and I really like that color scheme. I'm going to dye up a dozen to try, maybe won't lose them in this high grass around the property.

Those look great Bryan. Did you make the points? I seem to use green dye a lot and that doesn't help me to find them if I shoot one out in the field or in the woods. Only sugestion I'd give ya is to tapper the transition from point to shaft some on your next batch if you plan on shooting them.  Great work all the same, dpg
