Some fun with Jasper
« on: January 26, 2014, 12:36:02 pm »
One of my favorite lithics. Some heat treated some raw. I have some photos off individual
pieces if anyone wants a cameo. I am not a fancy knapper and tend to be happy with abo grade work.
I waste to much hard sought material trying to refine this pretty gnarly VA jasper.
The sun is so low in the south and the shadows are long but I tried my best with the pics.

Great looking stuff, Zuma!

Now.  Who is Jasper and can I get him to knap some of them points for me?   >:D

Thanks folks.
The jasper is loaded with crystals and inclusions and varies from black
 to translucent amber and orange.

HAHA. Don't listen to Alan !! That is some B E A utiful stuff you've got there. And I like what you've done with it. Looks like what you would find arrow head hunting. And yes I would love to trade for some of that ;)

Thanks Stringman.
Deerhunter, couldn't you keep the secret? lol
Knapper, I am on the road right now, Lower AL.
I have some dregs with me. Good for small points.
I may have exhausted most of my good stuff back home too but I am sure I can round
up enough for some arrow tips when I get back home.
The material is only found in a small location and I have to dive the river for most.
If you all like the yellow you may also like the chocolate.
