I just spoke to another buddy this morning from last year's MOJAM that lives here in Springfield as well.  He says he'd be interested in doing some kind of monthly get together bow building event as well.

Awesome! We are going to have a bunch of people before long!

Maybe this is the start of something AWESOME!  I mean there was a time when Twin Oaks was just a glimmer of an imagined dream in Pappy's mind, right?  Now it's danged near heaven on EARTH!!!  Start small, ...see what happens.

Thanks falcon, I met Wayne a month or so ago down here in battlefield, Mo at a thing they have for the trail of tears every year. It was a very cool conversation I had with him. He is a very knowledgeable bowyer. He was chasing a ring on a very thin ring Osage stave when I seen him. Wish I would have had more time to spend visiting with him. What's cool is that the event is almost literally in my back yard.

Onebow, I would be willing to put the effort into it! I think it would be awesome! I might even know a place we could do it at. But let's not put the cart before the horse. Good thing is though, Springfield is about dead center in the U.S. so it would be fair for everyone mes the most part.
We need to get something planned though, I even got asked today if I would be willing to teach someone.  They were very interesting people, homesteaders that are Cherokee Indians. Very cool people, and they called me earlier tonight to saw they are going to mojam as well.

Patches, onebow and I talked about trying to get together after mojam. I will do my best to get everyone informed.

We all should p.m. and get our contact info exchanged.

Patrick, Devon and I got together for a little bit this Saturday to scrape on bows.  It was certainly Hot enuf - but it was a good time nonetheless.  We're going to figure out how to do some more of this soon...  I'll post details and an invite here when we get some more solid-ish plans established.

Yes, it was a lot of fun! I personally had a little trouble with the heat. But we had plenty of shade a fan and good cold drinks. I got some pics but none with all three of us together. Here is what I got!

Devin's stave horse transportation method! He lives two house down from me.

Hopefully Devin didn't have to use same method of transport to travel to MOJam.
Also, that bench of his is soooooo comfortable!
