Couple more Sugar Quartz

This stuff can make useable points, but would not want it to be my only rock for tools.

Trapper Rob, I used hammer stone to knock off large flakes, then scraped sides to get the shoulders. I used an elk antler to knock off some flakes also and it worked pretty well. The final pressure flaking was done with copper tipped Ishi stick.

Caveman, I got it on a trade and one piece is as big as a basketball and the other one about half that size. I made these from the smaller piece that is now about the size of a softball. The guy I traded with said he can get more if I want it. It comes from Wilkes County, NC.

The flake scares are hard to see in a picture unless the lighting is just right, but they are knapped pieces.
