Dogwood youth bow

This bow was started by someone else.  They worked the back and side profile but didn't know how to tiller.  So I agreed to finish it.  It is intended to be used in Boy scout Order of the Arrow ceremonies. this was flowering dogwood.  It was a hard wood to work, but well worth it.  I have never used it for bows but will consider it now that I have worked one.

flowering dogwood.  One of the denser woods here in Missouri.

Kudos to you for helping the boy scouts!  That means a lot to me. Good job on the bow too. Is that the natural color of the dogwood?  Or did you stain it? Patrick

Thanks for the kind words fellas,  to answer your questions, no stain at all, just five coats of tru oil.,  dogwood trees tend not to get really big but you can find them with enough girth and length to make a bow.
