Conservation

As I start my first go at fletching I wonder as I look at some of these feathers, can it get more than one out of a single feather? I know I can use both sides on different arrows, but two from each side? Have you ever done it successfully? Is the size of the quil too small at that one end?

I get two from each side. Some are close. They till go fast. That is the other reason I use 2 fletch.

all depends on the length of the full length feather and what shape you are making, and quill width as mentioned... but yes you can get two outta most full length. But I chop my feathers into short 3.5" parabolic

If you can't get two outta a full length (or non full length) you can save the excess for kids fletching, flu flu's or learn how to splice feathers.
