Wifeys Bday present
« on: September 14, 2014, 03:26:33 pm »
This took me longer than I thought.... usually I do tooled leather stuff - this time I wanted something differnet. I cut out the leather in a basic oval. I traced another oval inside and then cut slits in the leather. I then wrapped the strips of leather with artificial sinew. I wanted the end product to look like a basket. What y'all think. She will get it later tonight.

Looks great.  I would have gone cross eyed doing that.  At first I thought it was quillwork.

I did pick up a porky pile this summer MadCrow. In a very unusal location. By the time I got him off the side of the road weren't much left of the guy. All of the hair and quills - bugs ate most of the skin and ravens got most of the inside. Just gonna let the bugs finish up and then sort and clean ....

Think ya did yourself proud.
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857
