has anyone backed a bow with burbot skin? its super tough. you peal the whole fish like a sock. wondering about it is all because I have a good supply of burbot right near me.

yea its freshwater. they still get massive. I don't know what the scientific name is (round here we call them ling cod)

Not a fish i am familiar with but i would try it if i had any. From what i have read on them i would think that they would be oily skins. I would soak them in water with dawn soap before glueing them down and expect them to seep oil for up to a week after glueing.

Ohhhh ling cod. Ya I just backed a bow with some, and it's for sure thick. Probably as thick as sturgeon. It ends up pretty dark, and cool patterns or colours sort of go away when the dry...
I have about a dozen ling cod skins in my freezer.
