I live in Fort Wayne Indiana and I am trying to find some rock to learn knapping with.  I have looked some and had no luck.  Keep looking or will I have to buy or travel to get some.

Thanks for any help.

Around maxwell In I have found flint on my farm. They were large nodes covered in chalk deposits.

I live in Paulding Ohio 30 mile east of Fort Wayne we need to get together sometime

As far as Knappable rock goes I think you will have to drive 1 - 2 hrs to find anything decent
You can buy rock from many folks or trade , that maybe your better option
would you be able to get to some of the events around the area?
The Marshall Primitive Archery Rendezvous is Memorial week end just up the road to Marshall Mi.
The Allen county fairground has a indoor living history event in the winter but I do not remember which month it is there are a couple of knappers that usually attend it
Let me know if you want to get together and talk bows some time ( a knapper I am not )
