I sure hope someone can help you out. Since there have been
very few found in the continental US. Some in the south west.
jackcrafty posted a photo of some from a NM.cave on the
" Bannerstone Discussion" thread. There are many found in
Alaska and Canada. Many reside in the Smithsonian collection.
From what I understand there are many from Central America
and Mexico. Might be worth while googleing for books about them.

Zuma there are a few books at Amazon but I'd like a little more selection, pa has one out too I'll probably get sooner or later

Bob Berg has written some papers that you can find for free  or talk to him @ ThunderBird Atlatl
Its all his opinion but he has a good amount of experience making and using

Great Basin Atlatl Studies 1974.  by T.R. Hester, M.P. Mildner & L. Spencer.  Ballena Press Publications in archeology, Ethnology and History No. 2 Editor Robert Heizer. 

The Atlatl and Dart Workbook.  2000, Wyatt R Knapp and Lou Becker.  Onagocag Publishing Co. Allendale, Michigan. 

The new atlatl and dart workbook: How to make your own atlatl and darts for competition, hunting and fun.  2010. Wyatt R. Knapp. Onagocag Publishing Co. Allendale, Michigan. 

The Atlatl - Primitive Weapon of the Stone Age Kris Tuomala.  A walking on Old Ground Publication.  No date evident but I have had this booklet for about 20 years.

All About the At'-latl.  1997.  Gary L. Fogelman.  Fogelman Publishing co.

these are books specifically about the atlatl.  The Bulletin of Primitive Technology has some good articles in back issues.
