Refurbished entertainment center to kids kitchen!
« on: January 05, 2015, 12:45:27 am »
Over the past couple weeks the wife and I took this old worn out TV entertainment center and turned it into a kids play kitchen for our niece's! So we turned my bow shop/garage into a wood working/craft shop. With a lot of elbow grease and some ingenuity and a little help from my awesome sister in law it come out pretty awesome!

A few specs, lol.  It has remote control LED lights over the sink and stove. It has 15' of LED rope lights mounted inside the stove. 2" holes drilled through the burners with plexiglass in them to make it look like the burners are on. Plexiglass in the oven door to. A real faucet and stainless steel bowl for the sink. A hand made microwave with all the buttons. Three removable shelves in the fridge. The stove knobs are homemade and turn as well. A pizza pan with a clock painted on it. Also, one end and the panels on the fridge door are painted with chalkboard paint.

We delivered it today and the girls were ecstatic! Of course they couldn't have a kitchen without pots and pans, food, a blender, coffeemaker and a mixer.
Anyway I know you all like pictures so here's a few! Patrick

Very cool.  That's way better than the plastic kitchens you can buy.  Good job.

Thanks Del! I can do a lot of things, but I think I will have to leave the carving to the guys with the real talent. I'm terrible at whittling.  Patrick

VERY ingenious!
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

With the number of those I see in second hand stores, and even sitting on the curb with a "Take Me" sign...you could go into business making 'em!

We bought one for our grand kids to use when they visit and it is not that nice. Great job!! ;)
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
