Peat bales
« on: January 21, 2008, 08:17:37 pm »

I was bored looking at the side of a store while waiting for my wife to do some shopping, and was looking at the gardening supplies, and it accured to me that those peat bales might make a good arrow stop. I was thinking a few additional wraps with some plastic, and start shooting ;D I figure when it starts to fall apart add the peat to the garden, and throw the plastic. Anyone ever try it???

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Brian, they would make good arrow stops. The ones I've seen were tightly bailed and wrapped in plastic.

I tried a bag of fiberglass insulation many years ago, that bats for wall insulation. It would easily stop arrows and the arrows would pull out with a couple fingers.
