compressed shafts

Has anyone used a compression block to reduce large diameter shafts to smaller sizes and higher spine?  How did it work for you getting consistent spine and weight?

Hi, I haven't used a compression block, or compressed shafting.  One of my friends found some old shafting at a garage sale that turned out to be compressed POC.  His shafts are tougher than the non compressed POC.  I thought that compressing LOWERED the spine weight.  It makes sense from an engineering stand point and I seem to remember seeing a note to that effect in the 3 rivers catalogue.  Ron

I have got some very nice compressed cedars (from Vapiti Archery I guess)
they're more dense than normall shafts and silky smooth (spend some time getting them straight though)
have been using them for some time, self nocked, without reinforcment and haven't had any failure
I've heard that Csaba Grozer, bowyer from Hungary sells compressed pine arrows
