I asked him how he proposed to power this motor.  He hasn't replied, yet.  The name he used was Pat Walker, don't know if that is his real name though.

Anyone here wants to use his idea then go for it, I'll pass

Shoot, I bet we'll see it installed on some compound contraption at the big box sports places by deer season! Running infomercials every night on the "hunting" channels! Sounds like you're missing out on the next big thing!

Well I guess if it was set up like a three piece you could have a device pull the limbs closer to a 90 degree angle were they meet te riser, but it would never be practical. The incress in poundage would need to be instant for it to improve over a full weight draw. Could be done without a engine maybe a simple lever at the handle which adjust the limbs just a tad.

If I understand this correctly all a winch in the handle would do would be to sort of increase the brace height. If you then released the string(which would return to the initial brace height) you would only have the difference between the two as your power stroke. This would only be about half of a normally drawn bow. All this is ignoring the friction losses of the winch which would probably use up any power you had. You can't draw a bow from inside. You need something behind the string, some kind of anchor. A guy would work. We'll call him an archer >:D
