Birch Bark Quiver and Arrows just finished up
« on: July 27, 2015, 12:23:37 am »
Hey guys, this is my first quiver and first three truly primitive arrows. When i found the birch tree i was without a knife, so naturally, i beat it off the tree with a rock. got home and cut 'er up nice and fashioned a circular bottom from more of the tree bark. After some slits where cut for the leather and holes where punched for the stitching i put it all together with an old sinew bowstring. The arrows are Echo Archery Douglas fir shafts, with turkey feathers, and hand knapped points made by your'es truly. All fasted together with deer leg sinew, homemade pine pitch glue, and egg yolk/charcoal paint. I had just as much fun making these as any bow, gotta love it.

Now that is nice. If you put some buckskin around the opening it will make it quieter in the woods.

Very nice.  I've made quite a few Birch bark quivers over the years.  They can serve double purpose as a drum if need be   :).  You can put some Moss inside to dampen the noise a bit though
