Ash Snake bow (MoJam) EDIT
« on: August 12, 2015, 11:41:11 am »
Oldie but goodie
I got rid of the photobucket pictures and thought I would repost it.

68" ntn 44#@28"
I got a half log at MoJam 3 years ago and made a bow with it.

So this one I let dry Inside my house for a long time, I made it 2 1/2" wide at the fades and 3/16"+ at the nocks. I did a slow heat treat like Marc St. Louis a year ago and sealed it
My taxidermist gave me a 6' long Timber rattler skin with head and tail because the scales were coming off. 16 Rattles
I work on and off on it until a few weeks before 2015 MoJam

after 80  shots it still has reflex in it.
Time will tell

Love that string! Great job of matching. Did you just randomly twist together different colors or did you have a plan. The bow looks great too but that string just grabbed my attention :D

I had the right color strings and they matched very well.
Thanks for looking

Great job. You did just what ash wants. Wide, long and tempered. Real nice tiller as well.

That thing sure turned out nice Max! I remember you working on that one at mojam.  It was refreshing seeing your post today. I really like the skins and the matching string! Awh heck I love the whole thing! Patrick

Great bow,  I agree with the others, that string matches your skins perfectly.

If that bow shoots as good as it looks, you've got a real winner.  Congrats on a fine job.

Nice bow. Looks flawless in braced position and at full draw, plus the finish work is very nice as well.
Like the others said that string is sweet also.

Now thats a nice ash! You got a great ash! :)

And judging by the heat treating on the belly, that is one hot piece of ash!

Wicked tips, freakishly thin stuff there!  I would eat my way thru a chainlink fence for a chance to shoot that bow!
