Texas/Primitive get together at Arvin's
« on: August 25, 2015, 05:54:11 pm »
October 16-18 there will be a party at my place in Spicewood Tx. 2819 PaceBend Rd . S. 78669 we will knapp ,build bows, make strings, make knifes, shoot arrows on 20-25 three D course. Fun rounds and probably a jackpot shoot. Camping will be on site . Food provided by my church family. Raising money for benevolence fund. Food will be priced reasonably. You can bring your own also. This is a first of hopefully many to come. If it out grows my place be there to help plan future events. There will be a $25 gate fee . Children under 12 free . Your fun shoot rounds are free and so is the camping. There will be vendors there. So if you have wares to sell bring them. $100 bill shoot on Sunday after noon along with a live auction. Some reworked 3Ds and what ever else I can come up with.  This will be a hoot folks so don't miss it. Arvin

I would like to know where Spicewood is. If it is not too far from me, I might come.

Thanks pappy I would always take your recommendation when it comes to event planing. Spicewood is in Texas about mid state . Twenty miles west of Austin.  Arvin

Id be by if I was closer Arvin. Love primitive gatherings.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Hey Arvin,
Thanks for the invite, I'll try and make it out, it's always a good time with other Knappers/ Bowyers etc....I'll let some others guys around town know about it as well. You might want to add 'In Texas' to your subject line, I just happened across it.  :o

I'll bring some local stone. Maybe I can heat some up before it kicks off.   I have quite a bit of raw stone I need to spall out.

I'm keeping an eye on my schedule for this one.  I pass Spicewood at least twice a year on my way to Austin.

That's a bit far for me, but I might come. The problem is that I have been going so much this year it seems like I'm hardly at home. I'll have to see how some other things work out.
