There are some gorgeous bows on here... anyone shot one through a chrono'?

Woah!  Bubby and Paul!  Very sweet looking bows!  We'll have to do a story or at a minimum, line them all up for some pics.

Wow more great minibows !
throw down a challenge and just look what happens
As I have said before we have some of the finest bowyers in the world at The Marshall Primitive Archery Rendezvous and also some of the finest folks !
I count it a privilege to be able to spend a few days (and nights) with them.

my thinking on the challenge is
1 show up at The Marshall Primitive Archery Rendezvous  with a bow that fits the criteria  set forth
2 Shoot the coarse with it both for fun and to prove they are in fact bows that work
3 Give the bear across the pond  a go , to show off a bit
4 award a few prizes just because
5 Take lots of pictures
6 Talk about another "first in Primitive Archery"  beings done at Marshall for next many years

Just in case you didn't know by now The Marshall Primitive Archery Rendezvous holds a special place in my heart and I feel we owe it all the honor we can give it ! Many "a first " have been acomplished there .

I am also going to get this old shoulder loosened up enough to throw  some darts in honor of the first world championship Atltatl contests that were held there

are we there yet!

What about next year we have an extra longbow challenge.  Maybe 12" taller than the bowyer?

That would work good for me I'm just a short guy I'd end up with a bow just right for somebody else.

Everything sounds good to me guy, but maybe a short course to shoot with these bows instead of the whole thing someone suggested the practice course. I might want to chuck a few darts too

A bow 12" taller than the shooter would be even for every one no matter how tall or short they are.

A bow 12" taller than the shooter would be even for every one no matter how tall or short they are.

Actually, it would need to be done as a Percentage of the bowyer's height in order to be 'fair' or even to everyone.  So, for example, you'd have to say the bow needed to be 120% of the bowyer's height.  So, a five foot tall bowyer would have to make a bow 72 inches long (60 X 120%=72) and six foot five inch bowyer would have to make a bow 92 and a half inches long (77 X 120%=92.4).  I think we would probably want to agree from the outset what the percentage would be though, 120%? 130%? whatever...
