Thank you for the really nice compliment Chuck. I fretted about what kind of bow to make for you because there was no way I could match the kind of bows that you make. So I decided on something that would reflect my preferred style which is simple yet distinctive. I used no heat and made no attempt to impose symmetry on the bow. The result is a bit unorthodox in looks but it works and I am pleased that you appreciate it. Thank you again.

Lucky Chuck I'd say. Nicely done, Gordon.

Gordon, I think the best part of a trade is studying a bow made by someone else and learning everything you can from it. I also love using the tree for what it is. There is no better way to get everything out of a bow than following all the natural shapes of the stave. Many people do not appreciate this and when I make a bow from a stave with say more reflex in one limb, they think my tiller off at full draw. I know you know better. There is a lot I could learn from you and many others on this site. I always test my bows in my backyard range by going all the way to the fence where it is 27 yards to the target to see how little the arrow drops by the time it hits the target. Your arrow flew with very little arc and passed with flying colors.

I made a post with pictures of my trade bows.  When I get back from Marshall I decide which one to ship out.

As it turns out I did get both of these bows. Mr. Anders may be short but he's big on class, and a heck of a bowyer. Thanks bud!

Over the weekend Clint brought me Pappy's trade bow! I am very honored to own one of his bows. It's an Osage recurve with Copperhead skins, jute handle and antler overlays. 52@26 and hits with authority. Shot the course with it and shot it quite well 8) Thank you very much it will be cherished for a long time

Pauly REALLY DID shoot course well ... very well!

and have to say they are first class all the way, cool stuff. 8)

Wow!  Some beautiful stuff going out!  This thread should come with a disclaimer,"warning...a bib is recommended before opening this thread.  Not responsible for drool down the front of your shirt!"
I finally got some quality shop time in this weekend.  This is plan A all tillered and the handle shaped.  I'll be doing the lipstick on the road this week and hopefully will have it finished next weekend.  Yew billets from goat, bison tip overlays and probably some sort of snakeskin on the back.  I'm leaning towards black cobra.  I spent the afternoon shooting it in and it did well.  Josh

Very nice Josh. Paul glad you liked it and shot it well, hope you enjoy it for a long while. :) Wasn't sure what to make for you but that seemed to be right up your ally. ;)
