PlanB....Mr. Andersson....upon reflection and considering the sharp grip reflex maybe you should go with the sinew and maybe two complete layers.....not on account of the pin knots mind but rather because of the high stress design.

Here ya go. The left limb goes straight out, but the right limb is reflexed a little.. (I think I'm saying that right)

David,
     your terminology is correct. It looks to me that the right limb gained the reflex from relief of stress in the tree and you have released enough wood for it to stabilize in the reflexed position. To correct the balance reflexing the left limb to match is the way to go......I would steam to do that but if you are equipped to use dry heat then by all means do so.....but remember that when you heat treat the left limb you will be making stronger as well so you will also want to do the right one. Make a simple jig byt putting the bow down on it's back with a block of wood under the middle of the grip....then clamp down the right limb at it's tip....now clamp the left limb tip so the profiles match.....then go to the oil and heat.
     I do not dry heat so maybe one of the other fellas in the trade who has experience with that can walk you through the process.

PA has a lot of knowledgeable people so if someone with experience wants to help ya then take the help.

And my last question just to double check, when the bow is on the tillering tree you measure the DL from belly side of the handle right?

I have always measured from the back of the bow at the handle. AMO standards for draw length is measured from belly side of handle then add 1.75 inches to it.

David, it's also hard to tell in the photo because the handle and back aren't level. Is the top of the tree where the handle rests level? It should be or it will throw you off when tillering

If I lay a straightedge across the back on my screen I see a little more reflex out of the grip on the right, but then it deflexes back mid limb.

 I like Rich's 5 minute steam bending for the early inner limb corrections now that I've tried it, because it won't alter the belly stiffness the way dry heat will. On the bow I'm working on now, I used dry heat at the tips a little further into tillering because I wanted to stiffen as well as bend them. I liked the combo. But like rich said, others have more experience and possibly better suggestions.

PlanB, I have checked that thing a couple of times... It should be level. I will check again next time I'm out there.

here's some pics fellas. Ironwood, 48# @ 28". I put some wraps on temporarily, just to get some opinions. There's a little character to it, the top limb looks a little off on the tiller, but thats where the twist gets started. I'm thinking it going to work, but let me know what you all think. this is plan a, I'll get started on plan b after I get some other projects done. Thanks for the input guys!

     sweet bend right there sir.....I marked on your pic where you may consider a couple scrapes, not too much though. Character ironwood is hard to judge in a pic so I may be off on this.
