Same here sleek....but I'm glad I found this hobby when I did...made sobriety much more tolerable and possible.

I have not had any luck with cutting wood and drinking. Pat seen me ruin a real nice stave doing dumb stuff like that.  And if you are always makin bows, then you never got time to drink.  Good on you for your sucess. I know its not easy.

Alright, I figured out plan a now that I have my victim.  I am going with my black locust.  I cut it down to 62 inches.  Now I need to even the width of the limbs up.  I have a good ring chased already.  After evening up the limbs I will be glueing on tip overlays.

        I dont believe any of my woodland bendys are more than 1-1/8" wide, and especially using that yeller stuff you probably wont need to go more than 1" wide (finished dimension)

Holy Cow David, these guys are already a bad influence on you what with that "victim"  secret answer and all  >:D

Picked out a stave of black locust me and a friend cut 3 years ago. Got a ring chased. Check out that hump over the knot.
