These trades threads are like HUGE build alongs! GRRRRREAT!!
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

Plan B, my money is on you sir.  If you have the Sudbury thing happening then you ought to be able to pull it off I'm positive.

Hey! Look what Fred sent

Some real nice sinew! My dog won't leave me alone, I better lock it up over night. Why the excitement you might ask? Well, I've never used it before and I'm very interested in seeing how it works out. I had not planned on using it , the stave have some nice back character but I'm not trusting all the pin knots also I gotta crank a couple of extra inches out of it.

So my question is in what stage should I apply the sinew?

Mr. Andersson,
I believe that having the bare bow to at least Brace height would be desirable, That way you wont  be trying to tiller down a 100# bow after the sinew sets up 8)......and by the way if Mr. DuBois happens to chime then under no circumstance listen to him >:D >:D >:D

Honestly B, i've had more than a few bows that started out as 1 design and finished beautifully as something else.

Turtle, Stix, man you guys are making nice progress.  That vine maple is looking interesting.  I've never had my hands on any of that but see it a lot on this site.  Looks like a challenge a minute to work with.

Stix, what wood is your bow?  Hard to keep up with everyone.  That "flip" looks mighty fine.

This is the first time I have tried vine maple but hope it wont be the last. It's nice wood to work but don't think I've ever seen any posted that didnt have a lot of character. Of course all this character in a new for me wood is forcing me to work slower which is a good thing.

I also got some  goodies in the mail yesterday.

Hey, Thanks Turtle! :)

Stix, well here's hoping it turns out okay. I just have to make draw length tillering. Probably bend the tips back a little. Not sure on that.

Here's the new shape. Now 62" bendy handle instead of the original 68" hard handle.

I love it when a plan B comes together....
