Well, she is an exceptional young lady and I'm glad she likes it....and glad to know her.

Got some more work done today. Thinned the limbs down some....
The left limb obviously has a hinge. That little spot is giving me trouble.... I used the draw knife to scrape away some wood, and It broke off a big chunk....  Guess I'll be using the rasp for the rest of it. It I still pretty heavy, so I'm not too worried. The picture was taken with the right limb bent to 6". I think the left limb is still stiffer. Once I get rid of that hinge, they should be pretty equal...

This is FUN! ;)

Looking at it closer, it appears the right limb close to the fades is starting to hinge? Or is that just me?

... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

David.... looking pretty good. Maybe my eyes are just tired but I cant see a hinge on the right limb. I would work work a little between the gouged spot and the fade on the left limb and check it again. You might be surprised at how much better that will make the hinge look.

Awesome bow Rich, u are the man! David , just work both sides of that hinge , slowly. Remove a lil and check it and so on. You'll be fine. The right limb maybe about 4" out from handle, maybe. Just keep an eye on it.

David,
I agree with Mr. Turtle.....I put some marks on your picture (hope thats OK)
1. The orange line is where you need to make it move a little more....do that first
2. The green line might be a tad stiff.....but wait till you get the orange moving first.....then if still looks a little bit "flat" where the green take a little bit off there.

Like turtle said you are gonna be surprised how little bit of wood taken off will change things so go slow and check often.....you have pleanty of wood yet so please dont over pull it or you will cause set that's not necessary......just pull enough to see if the left limb shape is improving and no more.

Keep posting pictures sir.....it helps these fellas see what is happening while there is still time to fix any mistakes....or maybe keep you from making one. Knoll said it ....ya got the right attitude, sir.

David, you got some good direction above.  Just don't forget to exercise the limbs 40-50 times after you remove wood.  Then you can see how the wood reacts to your adjustment.  Patience.  Work slowly.  Look at it.  Look at it.  Patience.  You'll get her bending like a champ.

Ok Rich threw in a surprise in with the award bow. I still can't say what kind it is but this little iron wood double bow is smoking fast and fun to shoot. I put around 50 arrows through it tonight. And my 15 yr old son has laid claim to it. I don't know how many he shot. But it was quit a few. But any ways thanks Rich again your a very giving man.
