I haven't seen a bow on here that I wouldn't like to have. I admire you guys that are working on a second bow. Keep them coming.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Tower that is one straight stave!!
Turtle....that's getting it done!  I'm pretty good at 8 yards myself.
B...that first bow came out nice...like that color.

I took a break from the trade bow today.  Got an hhb branch I've been wddling down.  It's only 48" and just some practice material.

I have the day off of work today but decided to make black cap jelly instead.  I have had a bucket of wild black caps in the freezer since last summer.  Waiting for it to cool now.  I did get a little bit of work on my plan b bow.  It is close to floor tillerred.  I chose my white birch stave to work on.

Man...blackcap jelly sounds awful good right now!  Here's that little piece of hhb I was working on.  Got a lot twist to take out but i think it will make a bow.

Times like these a bandsaw would be nice...hatchet...ferries rasp and 45 minutes.  This will be plan b....hopefully get it reduced and then start getting that twist out and the tips in line.

Going to start working on my plan b tomorrow but it had a knot tear out that worries me. It will still make a bow but not sure if I can get it to spec. So I dug out a set of flowering dogwood billets and will try to get them roughed out tomorrow and set em aside to dry for a while inside. They will be plan c.

After eating some black cap jelly on toast I got some energy and did some more work on my birch stave.  I reduced the belly down a lot more and roughed out the handle.  I worked up a good sweat working with my rasp.  It is just starting to flex a little now.  Next I need to take out some natural deflex on one limb tip.  Then I need to move the handle for good string alignment and then take out some prop twist.  I plan to use steam for all of this.

Everyone's bows are looking great!

I steamed the redbud and got it on the caul yesterday.  I just pulled it off to check and it is better, but still needs another adjustment.  I found out during the steaming that I need a better clamp.  My C-clamp was too small to fit so I thought I would go ahead with a bar type quick-clamp, but just couldn't generate much force.  Need to get a better clamp and try again.

While waiting, I started debarking a clean dogwood stave and plan to work on it during breaks... just in case....
