Bow Riser Thickness

Hey guys.
Wowww its been ages since I've last  been here.
Anyway, I was going to ask, how thick does a riser for a bow have to be for given dimensions approximately?
I'd like the bow to be 50 pounds, and I'm using Australian Jarrah as wood. (Not really sure the exact type)
The riser should be at least 55cm long, but the only piece of wood I have is a 2cm by 80cm plank.
Any comments on how thick and wide the riser should be, or how to best use the wood to make a strong riser?

2 cm should work but I wouldn't go over about 64" long. Not familiar with the wood you are using. If you don't mind some flex in the handle you might go a little longer but you are risking having a tear out where it tapers into the handle area.

I make very simple board bows. 40 - 50 # draw weight. ~64-66 inches long.No arrow shelf. This is the basic layout I have been using on my handles. I added dimensions in cm.
