Take down design

My wood and fibreglass 3 part take down bow uses locating lugs and Alan bolts, but, all the 2 part take downs on PA seem to use sleeves. Anyone use locking joints or bolts or toggles?  Sleeves seem like a lot of effort and I am no metal worker, that's for certain.

  I have done it using a big thick 5" or so bracket and wood screws,,and that is ok, but hard to take down.  You can use about any piece of square or rectangle steel stock, but I would make a diagonal "scarf" joint inside the socket if I did that, rather than squared ends butted together, like you would with a sleeve system.
