I put together a rip fence and a spring board to put pressure on the boards as I saw them.




I made a quick roller support.




Then I spent the next 4.5 hours sawing the boards.  It was going good until I hit a couple of nails that I didn't find earlier.  Both new blades are now dull.  Everything in my garage is covered with saw dust.  It made quite a mess.




I got all of them cut down to just under 1/2" thick.  They should work great for siding the outside walls of the camper.  I'm tired of messing with these boards.  I've put 10-12 hours of work into getting them ready to use.  I think I have more than enough for what I need.

I had that idea last night Pat but I don't have a blower.  I'm going to start watching Craigslist for a cheap one.

Looks great Clint! I like your set up there. I may have to try that myself. I'm going to be resawing some cedar before long. That will come in handy.

Looking good! Being a medieval/renaissance reenactor and the son of a civil war reenactor I've seen things similar before and they always look so awesome. At a civil war reenactment I've seen one that was dressed up to look like a small plantation house with columns and everything, put a little trellis work around the bottom and you'd think it was built there on the spot. In my medieval reenacting I've seen a trailer set up just like a Tudor era  farmhouse, even had a thatched roof.

Urufu, I've seen a lot of unique campers while researching for this project.  There are some really interesting ones out there.



PatB, I remembered my shop vac doubles as a leaf blower.  The garage is all cleaned out now.  I had the garage doors open while I was sawing last night.  When I went outside this morning I looked at them and they were brown with saw dust.  I had to clean those off as well.

I wish you were closer to Guy.  You've already helped me out more than you will ever know thanks to our conversation at the Classic last year. 


Turtle, I'm going to save some of it to show my kids what happens when you get the right mixture of sawdust, air, and fire.
