45# Yew (pic heavy)
« on: May 16, 2016, 04:20:11 pm »
This is my latest bow. 67" NTN. 45#@ 28". The stave had a lot of deflex so I flipped the tips to get back to straight but a bit of that pulled out and I ended up with about 1" deflex. My previous bow is 40# at 28" but this one seems easier to pull, go figure. The tips are made from a Yew knot. I cut the dark spur or what ever it's called out of a big Yew knot. They are a really nice color. They seem hard, I hope they last. Handle is just black 3/8" ribbon wrapped and CA'd. Arrow pass is abalone. My first non shelf bow. I like it. Best so far through the chrono is 167FPS @10GPP. On another post I mentioned cleaning the back with a Dremel wire brush. This is that bow.

Thanks Ryan. I don't think I harvested this. I have a mix of some I harvested and some from Yew Hunter up Island. My labelling sucks :-[
