You're right that piece of BL is extra. I have some more billets laying from the same trunk (as said seasoned for more than 75 years)
but most with huge cluster knots.

Love the black locust and this one is a dandy. I like that handle wrap, looks great and it compliments the tip overlays and strike plate perfectly. Don't blame you for doing that sinew wrap on the knot clusters, would be a shame to see such a nice bow fail down the road from that.
