The shallow or bulbous nocks of many Algonquin arrows seems to suggest that like most native americans, the original user of the Sudbury bow was shooting with the so-called "secondary" or "tertiary" release. In other words, a hybrid of the pinch draw and a three fingers under draw. This was my experience shooting an ash Sudbury bow with the authentic technique.
