catfish ...it's what's for supper!
« on: April 16, 2017, 11:25:49 pm »
Gunny and I snuck away for an hour and hit the river.  He caught the first one in about 15 minutes and then I caught one a half hour later.  This is the biggest channel cat my son has caught so far and he was pretty tickled!  They were tasty!  Josh

Yum! Fresh catfish. Did you have hush puppies and coleslaw with it. :OK
Father and son outing. Sounds like a great outing.
Hope to see you at the Classic, Josh.

Makings of a great memorable day!   :OK
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

I still remember the times my dad took me fishing when I was about that age. Gotta love those cats they can really tug on a line.

Nice work Barnes boys! Cat fishing is just around the corner up here. Still pretty cool and flooded.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

It was a long overdue outing, but well worth the wait!  We grilled the fillets with olive oil and lemon pepper and had wild rice and sauteed squash for sides.  Thanks for the comments!  I'll be sure to pass on the attaboys to Gunny!  Josh
