hi folks. Can anybody tell me if Truoil is an acceptable finish on sinew and leather covering? I intend using shellac on the horn belly but i wanted a colourless finish on the back.lew

I think tru oil will darken the leather a little I know other oil finishes do

Tru-Oil would be compatible over sinew and/or leather. It will darken a little, even yellow some. I'm not sure what finishes are used with Asiatic horn bows but I think I'd use the same finish over the whole bow. Contact James Parker. He has made lots of horn bows and puts an incredible finish on them all.
